2011-2012 Lieutenants
STEPHANIE BUTLER TAYLOR FOSTER CAROLINE ARMISTEAD BROOKE EDWARDS SARAH KATE WELCH
Our Belle Lieutenants were awarded the most coveted award at camp –
the distinction of being named to the
“Top Ten Percent”
amongst all groups attending.
Dance Evaluation I: Scored 50 out of 50 points
On the first day of camp each officer line chooses a dance to learn and then is evaluated just a few short hours thereafter. The routine is expected to be performance ready with very little rehearsal time. Hip Hop, Jazz, and Pom were the three options to choose from. The Belle lieutenants chose a Pom Routine and received their first blue ribbon.
Home Routine Plaque: Scored 95, 96, 97 points This competition is optional, scored by a judges panel and has no effect on the officer line’s final evaluation rating. Officer lines scoring 90 or above received a blue ribbon, officer lines scoring 95 or above received a plaque. The Belle lieutenants learned their contest dance 3 days before camp started and performed and received top honors, a Home Routine Plaque.
Choreography Project: Scored 37 out of 40 points
Each officer line was given an assignment to choreograph a short dance making sure to incorporate a list of required elements, submit routine notes, practice and perform their dance with no assistance from their directors. They were graded on completion of elements, execution, precision, memory, and showmanship.
Choreography Notes: Scored 10 out of 10 points
Each officer line was to type out their choreography notes using a sample format, spelling dance terminology correctly, and highlighting elements given, and turned in at camp registration. Thank you to Taylor Foster, who did an excellent job on the typed notes for the group.
Leadership Profile: Scored 100 out of 100 points
This was an accumulation of points earned from a series of assignments and leadership activities. The Belle Lieutenants also received top honor ribbons for having a perfect squad discipline score.
Dance Evaluation II: Scored 98 out of 100 points
Each officer line is to choose 1 dance learned at camp to polish and perform for final evaluation II. The Belle lieutenants chose a Kick routine.
Circle of Gold Trophy: Total Score 295 out of 300 points
Lieutenants lost only 5 points out of all required activities! Officer lines scoring total points of 270 or higher receive Circle of Gold honors. Silver 240-269. No Bronze or Copper awards (lower scores) were given this year.
The theme of the camp was “Transformations,” and the camp staff did a great job of giving our Lieutenants additional skills they can use to benefit our entire team throughout the coming year.
Thanks for representing us well girls!
